3rd Coast in Dallas/Ft Worth--Jan 2008

topic posted Mon, November 12, 2007 - 8:45 AM by  Ali
We're honored to announce that we've been asked to teach a class at the upcoming tribal convention, 3rd Coast. For those who don't know, 3rd C is held in Dallas/Ft. Worth and is hosted by Urban Gypsy. It's hands down the best organized bellydance workshop event I've ever attended.

This year is especially exciting because Kassar is teaching. Aside from our immediate teachers, I think n.o.madic has drawn more inspiration from these two ladies than any other dancers.

We're going to try a crazy challenge: A class entitled 20in2: Twenty New Moves/Combos in Two Hours! Honestly, I don't know if it's doable, but we'll dance our butts off trying. We'll offer up 10 fast and 10 slow movements, all of which are made for improv and honor the roots of ATS in their strength and presentation.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.....
love.

          Hayley:
First, let's keep our fingers crossed about the DVD because I am making it as we speak; i just had to take a lunch break! It will be a homemade job and not fancy at all--just a "moving handout"...not an instructional video. But, yes, with all those preconsiderations, you may chose to buy the DVD if you want even if you don't take the class.

          wish me luck!!
          love.

Hmmm....Ali, is this dvd to be available to those not attending that event? Seems to me that you would have a wide, appreciative audience for such a thing. I know I would love one myself. Moving handout or instructional dvd, whatever you want to call it, anything that comes from you is a gold mine of info. Just consider the idea of sharing the wealth of your knowledge beyond the workshop. I don't need fancy! I just want to learn from you even long distance.

Yes, I've tried to make notes at all the workshops with you, but a picture (especially a moving one!) is worth a thousand words! Besides, my notes have a habit of disappearing!
